Terms & Conditions
Katie Goodman Voice
These Terms & Conditions apply to voiceover and related services provided by Katie Goodman Voice (“Talent”) to the person, company, agency or organisation commissioning the work (“Client”).
By confirming a booking, the Client agrees to these Terms & Conditions unless otherwise agreed in writing.
1. Quotes & Bookings
All quotes are based on the information supplied by the Client at the time of enquiry, including the script, word count, intended usage, media, territory and duration.
A booking is considered confirmed once the scope of work, fee and usage have been agreed in writing.
If the scope, script or intended usage changes after the quote has been agreed, additional fees may apply.
2. Fees & Payment
Fees will be agreed before recording and may consist of a recording/session fee and, where applicable, a separate usage or licensing fee.
Invoices are payable within 30 days of the invoice date, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
The Client is responsible for any bank, currency conversion or payment-processing charges associated with payment.
Where payment becomes overdue, Katie Goodman Voice reserves the right to pursue any interest and compensation permitted under applicable UK late-payment legislation.
3. Usage & Licensing
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, the Client is purchasing a licence to use the recording for the specific purposes agreed at the time of booking, rather than ownership of the voice recording without restriction.
Usage may be limited by factors including:
media/platform
territory
duration
campaign or project
paid or organic use
Any usage outside the originally agreed terms requires prior written agreement and may incur an additional fee.
4. Changes to Usage
If the Client wishes to extend, renew or change the agreed usage of a recording - including using it in additional media, territories, campaigns or for a longer period - Katie Goodman Voice must be contacted before that additional use begins.
Additional usage fees may apply.
5. Script Changes, Pickups & Revisions
Corrections required because of an error made by the Talent will be rerecorded at no additional charge.
Reasonable performance pickups or revisions requested within the originally agreed brief may be included at Katie Goodman Voice's discretion.
Changes resulting from alterations to the script, pronunciation instructions, creative direction or brief after recording may incur an additional fee.
Substantial script changes may be treated as a new recording and quoted accordingly.
6. Client Approval
The Client is responsible for ensuring that the final script supplied for recording is correct and approved, including names, figures and any required pronunciation guidance.
Where pronunciation of specialist, technical, foreign-language or brand terminology is important, the Client should provide guidance before recording.
7. Live & Directed Sessions
Where a live-directed session is booked, the Client should ensure that all relevant decision-makers are available where possible.
If additional sessions or rerecordings are required because an authorised decision-maker was unavailable during the original session, additional fees may apply.
8. Cancellations
If a confirmed booking is cancelled or postponed, a cancellation fee may apply depending on the notice given and whether studio time has been reserved or other work declined.
Where work has already been completed, the Client will be responsible for payment for the work undertaken.
9. Delivery
Audio will be supplied in the agreed format and via the agreed delivery method.
Katie Goodman Voice will make reasonable efforts to meet agreed deadlines but cannot be held responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside reasonable control, including technical failures, illness, power or internet outages.
10. Transfer to Third Parties
Recordings may not be sold, licensed, transferred or supplied to another organisation for purposes outside the originally agreed usage without prior written permission.
This does not prevent agencies, production companies or other authorised suppliers involved in the agreed project from handling the files as necessary to complete that project.
11. Portfolio & Showreel Use
Unless the project is confidential or otherwise agreed in writing, Katie Goodman Voice may use publicly released work, or excerpts from it, for reasonable self-promotional purposes including showreels, website portfolios and social media.
Confidential or unreleased material will not be published without permission.
12. Confidentiality
Any material clearly identified as confidential will be treated accordingly.
Scripts, recordings and project information will not knowingly be disclosed to unauthorised third parties except where necessary to provide the agreed services or where required by law.
13. Intellectual Property & Client Materials
The Client confirms that it has the necessary rights and permissions to provide any scripts, music, images, trademarks or other materials supplied for use in the project.
The Client is responsible for claims arising from materials it has supplied where it does not have the necessary rights or permissions.
14. Liability
Katie Goodman Voice will take reasonable care in providing the agreed services.
To the extent permitted by law, liability arising from the provision of the services will not exceed the total fee paid or payable for the relevant project.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
15. Conflicting Client Terms
Where a Client, agency, platform or production company provides its own contract or terms, any conflicting provisions must be expressly agreed in writing.
Acceptance of a purchase order, booking confirmation or other administrative document does not automatically constitute acceptance of additional or conflicting terms that have not been agreed.
16. Changes to These Terms
Katie Goodman Voice may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The version applicable to a project will normally be the version in effect when the booking is confirmed, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
17. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
